Chili

We eat this chili all the time. I haven't made it in awhile because it still is so hot. But this weekend has been rainy and gloomy and seemed like the perfect day to make it;)

So for tomorrow, the kiddos have whole wheat scoops, carrots, chili and grapes.

I get asked if my kiddos have access to a microwave at school and they do not. Anything I send in, they eat cold. They are used to it now and never complain.

Our Chili Recipe

black beans
white beans
spicy chili beans
dark red kidney beans
diced tomatoes
half of an onion chopped
green, red and/or orange pepper chopped
ground chicken or turkey
a pinch of garlic
a ton of fresh spinach chopped up

Cook all ingredients in the crock pot for 4-6 hours.

Superfoods

Tomorrow the twins have some grapes with walnuts, cucumber and tomato salad, leftover chili and some blue corn chips. I have been reading about superfoods and trying to incorporate more into our diet. We have been having the kids guess how many superfoods are in their dinner to make them more aware. This chili has 5: turkey, beans, spinach, tomato and red peppers. Add some walnuts to the grapes and there are 6 in this lunch;)

Chili....Yes, Again!

This veggie turkey chili is becoming a staple in my lunches...probably because the kids eat it:) Tomorrow they have chili, an orange, some scoops and some carrot sticks.

Chili Lunch for a Chilly Day

What is Super Bowl Sunday without some homemade chili? The twins are bringing some leftover turkey chili, some strawberries, scoops chips and some celery and carrots. I think this is my new chili recipe but I added fresh spinach and orange peppers and it was amazing!

Turkey Chili

I am still trying feed the kiddos well to fight off any sickness trying to sneak in. I made some homemade turkey chili tonight and loaded it up with lots of yellow and orange peppers, some red, white and pink beans and also diced some fresh tomatoes. It was yummy! I also had leftovers:)

Thomas has leftover turkey chili, a witchy plum, some blue chips and then some star fruit (which he loved!) and some kiwi.

Stella has leftover turkey chili, a witchy plum, some blue chips, sour cream for her chili and some star fruit and kiwi.

I always love checking out all the other lunches at What's for Lunch Wednesday!
