New School Year

We have started a new school and for the first time ever, I have all three kiddos in school. Which is amazing:) And it means I have lunch x3 to pack:) My daughter wanted a new lunch box and we had to buy new lunch supplies. I had my eye on these bento boxes from Pottery Barn so we decided to try them out. I looooove them. I bought the plain boxes as well as the dip container and am very happy with the different sizes to use.

Cheese Flowers

I ordered some veggie cutters and some bento buddies and they arrived this weekend. I was excited to try them out. I love the mix and match bento buddies because now I do not have to worry about each set being matchy-matchy. And the veggie cutters....how cute! I started to cut 'bat' shaped cucumbers but you could not see them. I need to cut brighter colored food. So I added a couple cheese flowers.

Thomas has cucumbers with cheese flowers, a blueberry muffin, leftover whole wheat pasta with veggie sauce and ground turkey and some watermelon.

Stella has cucumbers with cheese flowers, a blueberry muffin, leftover whole wheat pasta with veggie sauce and ground turkey and some watermelon.

For snacks they have a blueberry muffin and some strawberries.

I tried to use my egg molds again but I have such a tough time peeling the egg so it looks pretty. I ended up tossing the ones I tried:( Fail #2.

Snacks for the twins are some muffins that are still in the oven:) Oh and the pizza pockets were a hit! They kids requested them again!

Salmon Bento

The first day of school lunches were a hit! But I was surprised at how much food was leftover...both kiddos said there was not enough time to eat:(

Tonight I tried and new salmon recipe and it was a hit! Both kiddos asked for me to pack it in their lunches. Leftovers it is!!

Stella has lemon garlic salmon served over 'confetti rice' which is just brown rice with carrots and peas mixed in, strawberries, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots with ranch dipping sauce and a blueberry muffin. Yum!

For her snack, Stella has yogurt covered raisins, dried fruit and cheddar rice cakes.

For his snack, Thomas has grapes and cashews (his favorite!).

Nothing too exciting for James. He has a turkey roll up, strawberries and some rice cakes.

I am back to making lunches...except I am making them for my FIRST graders. I feel like they are still my babies and now, first grade!! I think I am more nervous than they are:) The big news this year is that Stella and Thomas will be in separate classrooms. I wanted to bake something special so I made some heart shaped blueberry muffins.

Thomas' snack is double-decker peanut butter and crackers, cashews and some frozen grapes.
