The twins have the same snack today...one-third of a banana and some cheddar rice cakes.

James has some cut up turkey, mandarin oranges, some cut up broccoli, halved tomatoes and halved grapes (I thought if I mixed some broccoli in with two things that James loves...the tomatoes and grapes...he may try the broccoli and love it??) and lastly some Annie's cheddar bunnies in the bear cup.

I will say, it has been very difficult coming up with titles for these lunch posts. I should have numbered them:)

Stuffed Biscuits

Yay! One week of lunches down!! I did a little baking tonight. I made some turkey and cheese stuffed biscuits, some homemade chocolate chip cookies and some corn muffins. I was able to make my grilled peppers with goat cheese for a side dish tonight and we had two halves left over. I diced the peppers and cheese and mixed them right in with my corn muffins. Dee-lish!

Wings et al.

I was all set to make some baked lemon pepper chicken with grilled peppers and goat cheese when a huge rain storm moved in and our wireless went out. Well both recipes were online and I needed to reference them.....so pizza and wings it was. I did have some leftovers to use for lunch:)

Stella has a star shaped fluff-a-nutter (don't judge! I sent salmon in!!), pistachio nuts, two leftover chicken wings, mixed fruit and sliced cucumbers.

Star Student Lunches

I began to pack lunches tonight and I realized I had run out of a lot of lunch items already. I need to remember that making dinners each night and packing lunches for everyone is better economically and nutritionally but it requires so much more effort on my part. So here we go with what I had on hand:

Thomas has a butterfly shaped turkey sandwich and a mini star turkey sandwich, trail mix, cheddar rice cakes, grapes and applesauce.

For snack, Thomas has cashews, a granola bar and some grapes.

Stella has a butterfly shaped turkey sandwich and a mini star turkey sandwich, trail mix, cheddar rice cakes, grapes and some pickled okra.

For snack, she has a granola bar and some grapes.

James has a turkey roll up, applesauce, halved grapes and some rice cakes (in the piggie container).

Oh....this MADE my day today. Thomas thanked me for making such nice lunches because the food that they sell at school doesn't always look good. He is such a sweet boy:)

I am so glad I submitted this to What's for Lunch Wednesday? because I always feel so inspired after checking out all the other submissions:)

Salmon Bento

The first day of school lunches were a hit! But I was surprised at how much food was leftover...both kiddos said there was not enough time to eat:(

Tonight I tried and new salmon recipe and it was a hit! Both kiddos asked for me to pack it in their lunches. Leftovers it is!!

Stella has lemon garlic salmon served over 'confetti rice' which is just brown rice with carrots and peas mixed in, strawberries, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots with ranch dipping sauce and a blueberry muffin. Yum!

Made With Love

I am back to making lunches...except I am making them for my FIRST graders. I feel like they are still my babies and now, first grade!! I think I am more nervous than they are:) The big news this year is that Stella and Thomas will be in separate classrooms. I wanted to bake something special so I made some heart shaped blueberry muffins.

Thomas' snack is double-decker peanut butter and crackers, cashews and some frozen grapes.

Fun Cut Outs

I finally picked up some more cute bento supplies and wanted to try them out. Sooooo, even though the kiddos do not have summer camp tomorrow, I packed them a lunch for tomorrow. My sandwiches turned out....ok. I still need more practice but hey, if it makes packing lunch fun for me, I will take it:)

Thomas has a turkey dino sandwich (with one leg broken...awww), blueberries, yogurt raisins in my new silicone heart shaped cups, cashews and applesauce.

Stella has a turkey flower shaped sandwich with a little "S" shaped turkey sandwich on top, cashews, corn muffin with carrots and peppers, yogurt raisins, bread and butter pickles and applesauce.

Friday Lunches

I always make the kids lunches the night before; it makes the morning go so much smoother. However, tonight I made the mistake of packing lunches while the twins were still up. I ended up having lots of requests and ended up packing two pretty different lunches.

Stella has two turkey with mustard dog shaped sandwiches, two pieces of pickled okra, blueberries, corn muffins baked with sliced carrots and diced peppers, cashews, bread and butter pickles and left over taco salad with tomato kabobs on top.

Thomas has a turkey fish shaped sandwich, blueberries, teddy graham crackers, cashews and applesauce. Can you tell which of the twins is a pickier eater??

When I made the twins sandwiches yesterday and today, I noticed that I had leftover turkey from the cut outs. Well duh! I just took that turkey and put it in James' lunch. He does not care what it looks like.

James has turkey, applesauce, halved grapes, three bread and butter pickles, halved grape tomatoes and blueberries.

Corn Muffin Lunch

The twins had the same lunch which was ham roll ups, wheat thins, mini corn muffins with carrots and peppers, cashews and strawberries. I love these corn muffins...they are so easy to make and I always throw veggies in while they cook:)

James had cut up turkey, wheat thins, a corn mini muffin and diced strawberries.
